OZ
Bin Cleaning labelled a
‘Water Smart’ system
OZ Bin Cleaning has this week been awarded
the highly coveted 'Smart Approved WaterMark' by the Water Services Association
of Australia. The Smart Approved WaterMark is Australia's water saving labelling
program for products, services and organisations which are helping to reduce
outdoor water use.
As you're no doubt aware, water is the most precious natural resource in this
droughtafflicted country of ours, and Australia's growing population and misuse
of water is squeezing our dam and catchment resources dry, impacting our everyday
use of H2O.
With up to 60% of household water in Australian cities being used outdoors, the
Smart Approved WaterMark scheme has been developed to address outdoor water conservation.
It is a voluntary and not-for-profit program that allows consumers to make an
informed choice towards saving water via the distinctive Smart Approved WaterMark
logo.
Franchisor Mark Campbell is suitably chuffed with the news: "I've known
all along how incredibly enviro-friendly our mobile cleaning unit is, and it's
great to get some recognition from the industry's peak body."
Since OZ's early days around Sydney's North Shore, its network of franchisees
has grown substantially, and OZ now boasts coverage in all areas of Sydney from
the Central Coast to Wollongong, and also Victoria, Queensland and New Zealand.
Franchisees operate mobile units capable of cleaning and sterilizing 200 wheelie
bins or 20 industrial metal bins with just 250 litres of water. The average person
using a handheld hose will use on average 250 litres of water to clean just two
wheelie bins!
Using industry-best technology and setting the benchmark for bin hygiene services,
all water used is filtered, recycled and disposed of in accordance with EPA guidelines.
Mark adds, "By supporting services that display the Smart Approved WaterMark
logo such as OZ Bin Cleaning, you can contribute to the reduction in water consumption
in Australia.
0Z's business growth objectives have always been inextricably linked with environmental
preservation - we're proud members of Sydney City Council's Clean Harbour Partners
program, the Healthy Lakes Program and now of course the Smart Approved WaterMark
scheme.
We're doing our bit to conserve our most precious resource - water!"
